IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD PRESIDENT
March, 2026

Dear AJPR supporters, donors, and volunteers,

Financial Help

Thanks to the many generous contributions that we have received over the past three months, we have been able to provide approximately $27,500 in emergency rent and utility payment assistance for 18 families, with an additional two families whose requests are still under consideration.

Because of the increase in detentions and failure to renew work permits, immigrant families continue to be at grave risk, including those who were invited to this country as refugees through the United Nations resettlement process and the families of Afghans who served with and protected our troops.

We need your help to continue the current level of response, which is not sustainable for long with our current resources!  We hope your continued generosity will help us continue to meet some of the emergency needs of the increasing number of desperate families in the coming months.

Matching Donation Opportunity
A community member has offered to match donations that we receive in the next month up to $5000.
Donations can be made HERE

Important Volunteer Opportunity

Endeavors is looking for people who can contact present and past clients to check in with them by phone or in person (interpreting service available for clients who are not English speakers) to be sure that they know their (legal) rights and to ascertain what resources (legal or other) they might currently need. This could (but need not) lead to further opportunities to volunteer with these families.
These check-ins will be happening starting in early- to mid-March.
Training/Orientation and information will be provided by Endeavors.
Background check required if you haven't been checked within the past year--Endeavors will provide the background check. Please contact Stacey Eyman if you are interested in helping with this important project.

Things are so difficult for refugees right now, and AJPR is so grateful for all that you do to help us help them!

Sherry Blum, Board President, Austin Jews and Partners for Refugees

AJPR envisions all refugees who arrive in Austin being welcomed and provided with the resources they need to pursue opportunities and build successful lives.

MISSION

Austin Jews and Partners for Refugees are volunteers who provide direct and immediate assistance to refugee families. We do this by:

  • Connecting refugee families to resources.
  • Providing emergency assistance.

Resettlement is a moral imperative.

“Welcoming the stranger” is our privilege.

Our Jewish tradition teaches us that there is no higher obligation than to save the life of another.  Faced with one of the largest refugee crises in human history, Austin Jews & Partners for Refugees (AJPR) was formed to raise our voices for the rights, safety, and very lives of people who are fleeing genocide, persecution, and war Together with our Resettlement Agency partner, HIAS, and our other faith and community partners...

we are committed to aiding those who have been forced to leave their homes.
