We have fantastic news!!

For more than 130 years, HIAS has been helping refugees around the world
rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.

HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) is excited to announce the opening of our
new refugee resettlement office in AUSTIN, TX, at 6700 Chevy Chase.

HIAS will begin welcoming refugees coming from the United States Resettlement Admissions Program (UASRAP) starting in September 2023.

AJPR and HIAS are excited to be working together!

The HIAS co-sponsoring program pairs a group of volunteers with a refugee family. A group of volunteers assist one family for 3 months with specific tasks that will help them adjust
​and thrive in Austin.

“One of the many wonderful things about the Salaam Neighbors program is getting to establish a relationship with a family and help them directly. It has been wonderful getting to know our family and helping them adjust to being in this new place.There are so many ways to help that seem like something small to me, but they are a big deal to someone who has newly arrived here. And my children have become friends with the children in the family, which I hope is a support to them - to know an American kid who is your friend”- Amy H.
